Summary

The ARC Hub for ICT is dedicated to driving digital transformation in healthcare, education, infrastructure, sustainability and data management in Ireland by providing critical support for translating ideas into market-ready products and services. With a collaborative team of researchers from 11 research institutions across Ireland, the Hub seeks to close the gap between academic ICT research and the goal of innovation and entrepreneurial activity. 

The Hub leverages three strategic support bases: 

  • Bespoke Entrepreneurial Training and Networking: Equipping researchers with the skills and connections needed to commercialise their ideas. 
  • Technical and Project Management Development Supports: Providing essential resources and expertise for the successful execution of impactful projects. 
  • Commercialisation Supports: Facilitating the transformation of research outcomes into viable market solutions.

Research Programme

The ARC Hub for ICT accelerates the transformation of novel AI research into commercial solutions that positively impact the way we live and work.

  • LEAP-LA: reframing Learning Experience and Advancing Practices with Learning Analytics through a lens of generative data intelligence 
  • HappyMaths: developing a game-based platform to practice Mathematics in Primary Schools 
  • ISLTranslate: English to Irish Sign Language Machine Translation: An Irish Sign Language Avatar 
  • FraudLens: An innovative AI-based framework for the end-to-end investigation of cryptocurrency crimes 
  • SoccerAnalysis: A Hybrid Computer Vision/Mems Sensor Solution for Physical and Tactical Analysis in Soccer 
  • ColdChain: Smart RFID tag and sensor for frozen food cold-chain monitoring
